The decision came after a more than two-hour executive session, at special meeting Monday night.
Council also voted 4-0 to begin immediately advertising for a new finance director.
Spletzer and the others did not comment on their votes.
Baryak said the decision was “to move the community forward.”
NEWTON FALLS — Village council by a 3-1 vote ended the contract of Finance Director Anna Musson.
Council members John Baryak, Adam Zimmerman and Chris Granchie voted to end the contract while council member Tesa Spletzer voted against the action. Former councilman-at-large Brian Kropp had resigned at the last meeting.
Law Director Joseph Fritz and interim village Manager Pamela Priddy met with council and the mayor in executive session on the personnel matter.
Council in September had approved Silver Lake Treasurer Sean Housley to work part-time as interim finance director while Musson was on unpaid administrative leave. Silver Lake is an Akron suburb.
Musson, who did not attend the meeting, could not be reached for comment. Read MORE in Tuesday’s TRIBUNE CHRONICLE.
