Community Clinic of Maui will see $635,993, Lanai Community Health Center will get $523,749 and Hana Community Health Center will receive $520,955. They are among 12 health centers to receive a total of $7,423,032 under the American Rescue Plan. The funds can be used for COVID-19-related capital needs, including constructing new facilities, renovating and expanding existing facilities to enhance response to pandemics and purchasing new state-of-the-art equipment, including telehealth technology, mobile medical vans and freezers to store vaccines.

Three health centers in Maui County will receive nearly $1.7 million in federal funds to expand health care access and fight the pandemic, U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz announced Tuesday.
“We are still fighting this pandemic, so this new funding will be a big help,” Schatz said in a news release. “It will update and expand health centers across the state and provide more people with the health care they need.”
