Omiq’s principal product is OMIQ, a cloud-based cytometry analysis platform that allows researchers to identify drug or therapeutic interactions in lab samples by tracking biomarkers, Insightful said.
After the acquisition, OMIQ will continue as a standalone product but will connect with Insightful’s other products, the company added.
In March 2021, Insightful inked a deal to acquire scientific software company Dotmatics for an undisclosed amount.
“We are thrilled to welcome Omiq into the company to help advance our vision to build the world’s largest scientific platform to support researchers through every step of the R&D process,” Thomas Swalla, Insightful’s CEO, said in a statement.
Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in San Diego, Insightful provides data analysis, visualization, and bioinformatics products for life science research. The company said the addition of OMIQ “expands [its] offerings in flow cytometry software solutions.”
Insightful is privately held by Insight Partners, a global venture capital and private equity firm.
