Jail records show Scott Hodges, 43, of the 8600 block of 95th Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder and possession of stolen property. An update from the agency Wednesday evening said detectives were still trying to learn what caused Spencer’s death. Officials first announced Spencer’s disappearance Tuesday and said he was reported missing by a family member who told deputies he had not been seen at his Vero Lake Estates home in days. The agency then released information Wednesday, however, stating detectives had since learned Spencer was last seen Tuesday afternoon at Hodges’ home. Hodges is a licensed local real estate agent, according to state records.
