The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team made a school-record 18 3-pointers in an 88-52 victory over Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday night at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

The ‘Bows (4-3) never trailed against the Division II Sharks, opening up a 42-24 halftime lead after making seven 3s — putting them halfway to matching the then-school record of 14. Hawaii continued to pour it on in the second half, and Coleman’s 3-pointer with 4:49 remaining — his third 3 in a row for UH — broke the school’s single-game team record.

UH next hosts the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, opening up against Vanderbilt on Dec. 22. The field also includes BYU, Stanford, Wyoming, South Florida, Liberty and Northern Iowa.

Rodney Hounshell led HPU (3-4) with 14 points.
